I am a married woman! I never thought I’d say that. The wedding was amazing and couldn’t have been better. I had a minor meltdown the day before the wedding due to a massive amount of phone calls and being that it was my only day off that week. I would suggest taking a day or two off the week before your wedding. Other than that, the wedding went smooth and everyone had a blast. I made it a point to not make a minute by minute schedule like 80% of the weddings I’ve photographed or catered. I’d rather not look at a clock and do things in a timely fashion or in any special order. We just enjoyed the night and did things our way when we felt like it.
After the ceremony, at the Derby Street Chapel in historic Cocoa Village, the guests walked around the corner to the Parrish Grove Inn for the reception and were greeted with snow cones from Oasis Shaved Ice. Later on in the night after dinner, we had our first dance to Queen “You’re My Best Friend.” Thanks to the bridesmaids we had many delicious cupcakes. Each bridesmaid made a batch or two, which helped so much. The food by Jeff Coco at Vintage 56 was amazing and a perfect quantity. The reception site was beautiful. Josh Miller’s music was perfect for the mood. It sprinkled for only a minute so we got our good luck rain without ruining the outside set up. I surprised Paul with a groom’s cake that my friend Emily made. It was his Rickenbocher guitar. The flowers by Carol DeRoma were so beautiful. Everything was just phenomenal. Hands down, the best day of my life. You can’t go wrong with great music, drinks, food, and all of your closest friends and family in one place to celebrate love and life.
Like I said before, I never thought this day would come. I never thought I could love someone so much and trust them completely. I’ve married my best friend. Too many times I have heard from girls that they are in love with being in love. This means their relationships are doomed to failure. Once reality hits, the couple is now discussing babysitters and bills and eating spaghetti on the couch while watching Seinfeld and perfection and butterflies have left the building while the woman lets her fluttering heart escape too. Love is being able to have conversations outside of romantic lighting and background music over red wine and candle light. Love is no makeup and dirty laundry and still being able to have fun, even if it is just in your living room. Love is through thick and thin, for better or for worse. No, he may not be perfect, but neither are you. I think one of the most important things to finding happiness is to find it within yourself. If you are bored, then you are a boring person. Find a hobby. Read a book. Don’t blame it someone else for not putting on a circus every night. If you can find solitude alone and sleep alone and be happy with just yourself, then you can finally meet that person who will change your life.
